Mixed Media Makes March

Hi Crafty Bloggers

Had some holidays from work so had some crafty fun !!!

Here are my ATC's for Maremis Creative Cafe on facebook . They really do challenge myself and not always a fantasic result but I thourghly enjoy trying different textures and mediums and learning so much !! There is so much inspiration on there and so many wonderful people it really is a wonderful place to be <3

J for Journey - I have used Lindy's magicals on this one with a chippie some bling and charms ...stamp and word sticker . The texture underneath is a dried out t-bag cover !!

K-Kaleisescope - struggled with this one but have early memories of playing as a child and it was all about colour for me . I used eggshells for this texture and handmade sprays with distress inks a chippie and a die cut and word sticker . Enjoyed cutting the die from  coloured watercolor paper.

L- Lace - I used lace on the card and then painted with acrylic paints and added some gesso on top to finish . I added some wire and punched out some butterflies from the remaining card and added a gorgeous bling center.

I have also tried a canvas with a photograph my first try I like the composition but messed up the hair a wee bit but loved trying it out !! I used lots of Dusty Attic chippies & resins from The Trinket Parlour . I was so inspired to try it out after watching Maremi Small Art on Youtube . I love trying out every video and especially when one is posted on a day off lol !! hate it when at work and all I want to do is go home and craft lol ;0)

I also am learning to use watercolours and found some awesome tutorials on youtube from Jay Lee

I have used a mask from The Trinket Parlour then used the trchniques in the video for the splatters of colour was so much fun !!

Lastly another gorgeous tutorial from Maremi and I did this similar to the video as wanted to achieve some confidence with the mediums which were magicals . I have made the flowers cutting out using a die and some chippies and crochet thread . I decided to mount the tags onto a flat canvas and then made the background using stencils and dry brushing with distress inks and  some word stickers . Just adore how it turned out <3

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to keep learning and discovering new techniques in April . The videos I have followed are on my facebook page or go to the links in the post if you want to try them out too .

Mixed Media Makes February

Hi Crafty Bloggers

I have had some relaxing time off work and have been enjoying getting crafty and playing with Mixed Media .

I had made some backgrounds using masking tape and watercolor paints .
I then doodled on them and then stamped on them . The first card I used a chippie and made a tag used some twine and little flowers . The stamp with my doodles is from Kaisercraft and is lace . The text stamps on all of them are from Stempleglede.

Here I have added another different dot stamp with my doodles and some flowers from my wonderful bloggy friend <3

The Last card I used a crafters workshop harlequin stamp with the doodles .

They are all ready for when you need a quick card !!

I was inspired by MaremiSmallArt on youtube for the double bows and the masking tape texture effect ,

On this canvas I was inspired by Emily's tutorial at The Trinket Parlour where you add lots of texture , metal pieces,  resin pieces and chippies onto a black guesso board or canvas . Then you add foil aluminium tape over and rub it down it was so therapeutic .When you paint guesso over it again and rub it off it looks like brushed metal it is so cool . I have went a step further and put some acrylic opal paints on top . I put way to much on it and it looks really eerie but loved making it <3

Here are my ATC cards for the 52 CafeCards challenge at Maremis
Creative Cafe on Facebook
This is E for Eclipse I have painted the background with guesso and used distress crayons and added a chippie and sticker

This is F for Folk Art

with my watercolors and finished with a fine marker and white gel pen

G is for gears
I have used  watch gears to make the butterfly and flower and used mini art stones coloured with watercolors and I wrote the word

H is for Hearts or Hummingbird
I chose hearts I had done some acrylic painting on old packaging with sand texture paste and added glitter . I added hearts with homemade texture paste and stencil . I finished with embossed chippie hearts and beads and twine .

No automatic alt text available.

I is for Imagination
I made the background with rubbing distress crayons. I had stamped a vintage wood grain stamp on water colored wash paper and fussy cut a tree . I used a die to cut out the cloud to tuck behind the tree. I added some art stones and mixed with soft gel and watercolors for the flowers . I painted some chippies for the birdhouse and butterflies . I then stamped randomly with ink and a mini harlequin stamp and used kitchen roll tube  for the circles using guesso and lastly used a graphite pencil to shade and coloured the chippie word with a black ecoline marker .

Have thoroughly enjoyed getting messy and trying out new techniques and can't wait to see what makes are in March <3
